How does the Productboard integration handle permissions and tags?
Dovetail uses your connected Productboard account when sending documents to Productboard. Each user connects their own Productboard account through the integration settings, and Dovetail performs actions on their behalf. This means users can only do what their connected Productboard account has permission to do. If a user cannot perform an action directly in Productboard, they will not be able to perform that action through Dovetail. How do tags work when sending documents to Productboard?
The Tags field in the send dialog is a free-text field. It does not display a dropdown of existing Productboard tags, so users need to manually enter the tag names they want to apply.- If the tag already exists in Productboard, Dovetail will apply it to the note.
- If the tag does not exist, Dovetail will automatically create it before applying it.
What Productboard permissions are required to send documents and create tags?
Users need permission to create and tag notes in Productboard. By default:Why can a user send documents but not create tags?
Some organizations use custom Productboard roles that modify default permissions. Admins can remove specific capabilities, including the ability to create new tags. If a user can send documents through Dovetail but cannot apply a new tag, check whether their Productboard role allows them to create tags.Disconnect Dovetail and Productboard
